Staff

The staff at Christ Our King include:

  • Pastor Thomas L. Schroeder
    Pastor Tom is a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He received his Master of Arts degree in religion in 1984. Pastor Tom is also a graduate of Concordia College, Ann Arbor, Michigan and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in teaching from Concordia College, River Forest, Illinois. Before becoming a pastor, he was a teacher in New York City and New Boston, Michigan. He and his wife, Pamela, are the parents of three grown children.

  • Associate Pastor, Dean Wachholz
    Pastor Wachholz grew up in Milwaukee, WI attending parochial grade and high school. He received his BA in 1968 and his MDiv in 1972 to serve parishes Washington State, Illinois, and Wisconsin. In 1990, he was called to serve with Lutheran Special Education Ministries, Detroit, and in 1996 accepted the Call as Advancement V P at the Ft. Wayne Seminary until he joined the Executive Staff of the Michigan District-LCMS, Ann Arbor in 2002. In 2005, he accepted the Call as Lutheran Church Extension Funds' V P to Agency Services. After 35 years of full time ministry, he retired in 2007, and accepted the Call as Associate Pastor (part-time) here at Christ Our King Lutheran Church, Saline.

    Pastor Dean and his wife Betty have one son, Chad, of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI.

  • Associate Pastor, Don Kirchhoff
    Pastor Don Kirchhoff grew up in Higginsville, Missouri, as a part of a Christian family and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.  After attending St. Paul’s High School and Junior College in Concordia, Missouri, and the Senior College at Ft. Wayne, Indiana, he graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, in 1968.  He served as pastor of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Miami, Oklahoma, from 1968 to 2008.  He also served as pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairland, Oklahoma, from 1968 to 1982.  He also served the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod as a reconciler, and the Oklahoma District as Secretary for Evangelism and Circuit Counselor of the Miami Circuit.  He retired from the full time ministry in July 2008 and joined the staff at Christ Our King in October 2008.

    He and his wife Jane have two adult sons and their families:  Paul, Heather and Jacob Kirchhoff of Ann Arbor and Michael, Kelly, Kaity and Zac Kirchhoff of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

  • Director of Care Ministries, David A. McNeil
    Dave is a graduate of Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in education. Dave is also a graduate of Grand Valley State College where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology. He is currently enrolled in a Master of Family Life Degree program in Nebraska. He has served congregations in Hawaii, Colorado and Michigan. Dave and his wife, Susan, have two grown children.
